TTT: Books that Should be Adapted into Netflix Shows/Movies

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

I love books that thrive on visuals, that create vivid mental pictures of different worlds, times, or people. A few of these books almost read like movies on their own, but I’d still love to see them turned into streaming spectaculars.

  1. Landline by Rainbow Rowell
  2. Night Film by Marisha Pessl
  3. The Thinking Woman’s Guide to Real Magic by Emily Croy Barker
  4. How to Build a Girl by Caitlin Moran
  5. Vicious by V. E. Schwab
  6. Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan
  7. The Unfinished Life of Addison Stone by Adele Griffin
  8. An Unkindness of Magicians by Kay Howard
  9. Tuesday Mooney Talks to Ghosts by Kate Racculia
  10. Middle Game by Seanan McGuire

What books do you want to see turned into movies? Link your TTT or let me know in the comments!

Landline…! YES!!! That can work. And Mr Penumbra’s 24hours book shop.

Lovely choices! Here’s my 10 Books that should be adapted for Netflix

    1. Resa says:

I feel like Landline would make such a sweet romantic drama. Who doesn’t love Rainbow Rowell?

  2. Great list! Considering how popular Vicious is, I’m surprised it hasn’t been adapted yet. I haven’t heard of The Thinking Woman’s Guide to Real Magic before and it sounds really interesting!

    1. Resa says:

I know! I’m hoping to see more of Schwab’s work make it to the screen. It was a really good book! My only complaint is it was supposed to be a series but nothing happened after the debut release.

  3. Nicole says:

An Unkindness of Magicians would be great to see on the screen!

    1. Resa says:

I agree! I think I’d almost like it better as a movie than a book.

      1. Nicole says:

Yeah, I can see that. The visual aspect would really make it

  4. What a great list, I think How to Build a Girl has just came out as a film? I could be wrong! I’d love to read it one day!

    1. Resa says:

It has?! I’ll have to see if I can find it somewhere, that’d be awesome.

  5. Wow, I haven’t heard of a lot of these… I’ll have to look them up! I really need to read something by V.E. Schwab… she makes people’s lists every week!

Oh yes, yes, yes to Landline! Sometimes I feel like the only person who enjoyed that book. 😉 Maybe it would work better on screen. Great list!
